Review: Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Hair Treatment || chelseahkitty

This will be a quick review on a product I recently bought because it was cheap and smelled good. It's a "3 minute" hair treatment that claims to help restore dry damaged hair by the brand Garnier Fructis.
Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition 3-Minute Undo

Dry, Damaged Hair
Info on the back

  • Cost: $4.68 at Walmart.
  • The texture is a little weird because it has tiny balls or seeds in it. Don't worry, they wash out easily. It's easy to work into the hair. I would only use this from your ears down to the ends of your hair, concentrating on the ends, or it may make your scalp oily. It has 3 different oils-Olive, Avocado, and Shea. The smell is amazing, very natural and summer-y.
  • Overall, I would repurchase this.
    • Pros: Smells great! Result was smooth, moisturized, and better looking hair.
    • Cons: Must leave on for longer than 3 minutes to see results. I only did about 5 minutes but will try longer next time to see if it will work even better.

*This product IS animal tested. I have been unable to find a hair treatment that is not animal tested; but, as always, if you know of any good brands/products that are cruelty free pleaaaaase let me know! :)

Thanks for reading! Let me know if you've tried anything else from this line of hair products. I'm really wanting to try the Fall Out stopping shampoo and conditioner because I tend to shed a lot :/

Quick Haul! (Kohl's) || chelseahkitty

Kohl's has some great clearance and sales items right now so when I stopped by to spend some "Kohl's Cash" coupons I found some really cute stuff! I know summer is almost over and I should be buying Fall clothes but at these prices I couldn't help myself.
Here's what I got:
As usual, Nala needed attention.

Cream and peach lace dress: $15 (clearance)

Mint/light teal jersey hoodie: $17 (sale)

Lightweight pattern shorts: $15 (sale)

Bird pattern and gold detailing

My favorite thing is definitely the lace and peach colored dress! It was $48 but marked down to only $14.99 on clearance. Have you found any good back-to-school/end of summer sales?
Please give me ideas/requests on twitter (@chelseahkitty) or in the comments below :)

Say NO To Animal Testing || chelseahkitty

Animal testing in this day and age is completely unnecessary. However, companies do it because it's cheaper and all they care about is money. The only way to stop these companies is to not buy their products! You may not feel like you make a difference by not buying 1 foundation from a company but if everyone did this it really could. I'm not saying I do not own any products from animal testing companies, but I really really try to avoid them at all costs. I thought this blog post would be helpful to have all the info in one place. I know I sometimes have trouble finding if a company is pro or against animal testing, so I hope this helps!

>>Here is an important statement from the PETA website: "In the U.S., no law requires that these types of products be tested on animals, and companies can choose not to sell their products in countries such as China, where tests on animals are required for cosmetics and other products. "
Companies who do not animal test:
Companies who do animal test:

Some companies I really love who are DO NOT TEST are:

Some big name companies that DO TEST on animals and should be avoided are:
  • Estee Lauder-which also owns many other popular brands. (Mac, Bobbi Brown, Smashbox, Clinique..just to name a few)
  • Covergirl, Maybelline, Revlon, L'oreal
  • Proctor & Gamble (Own Herbal Essences and many other companies)

*If you want to learn more about animal testing beauty/cosmetic companies you can visit Beauty Without Bunnies to search for companies and see what their policy is. Some companies are very vague and sketchy about these things. Unless they outright state they do not animal test they probably do.

Disclaimer: This is not sponsored. All opinions are my own.  If I am given an animal tested product by a friend or family member I will of course take it-not everyone understands or is informed of animal testing and it would be rude to not accept a gift. I do my best to only use companies who are not big on animal testing, but I cannot always afford to throw away products that have already been purchased for me. However, I will not do sponsored reviews for companies that animal test.

Summer Nails! Review: Covergirl Glosstinis || chelseahkitty

Covergirl Outlast Stay Brilliant Glosstinis Nail Polish (Pina Colada)

I've already done a review of the larger size of this brand in a coral color but these smaller ones have different colors and were limited edition for Summer 2013 so I had to grab one. Mine is the lighter yellow color called "Pina Colada." Here's my review!

  • Price: $2.99 at Target
  • Size: About half the size of the regular one I think? It's great for travel.
  • Color selection: Great summer colors! I wanted a light yellow, no idea why. It's a pretty pastel yellow that makes me look a little more tan-always a plus. I think it would look great on really tan or darker skin tones.
  • Application/Results: Comes with a tiny brush which is good and bad I guess. It went on streaky but 3 thin coats and it looked pretty good. Any more coats and I think it would start to bubble. It seemed really runny so I made a mess on my cuticles, oh well.
  • Overall: I still like it and will probably purchase other colors from this line! Again, the size is great for travel and the colors are great for summer.
